• This story of savory braised flavors began in 1976 in Ximending, started by a retired military cook—Papa Wu. Out of love and responsibility for his wife and children, Papa Wu set up a small braised food stall in front of the old Wanguo Theater. Despite the harsh sun and wind, he gritted his teeth and persevered.
  • Back then, the crowds leaving the theater became his most loyal customers. The steaming hot braised dishes not only warmed their stomachs but also carried Papa Wu’s hopes and dedication to his family.
